Eclectic French Bistro dining in Lyon

The Menu

Maison Moly is truly one of the hidden gems we found while visiting Lyon. The 3-course pre-fixe lunch menu was truly the perfect way for us to end our visit and gastronomic experience at Lyon, enjoying French cuisine with a modern twist. The best part to all this is how inexpensive the meal cost, only 25 Euros per person for 3 courses. What an incredible value, you’d never get anything like this in the Bay Area.

As the host says “it’s just lunch” - no big deal.

Wine for French Bistro dining

As for the wine, I asked the host what local white wines he would recommend and he suggested a Macon-Villages wine which would likely pair well with both the calms and fillet. This wine is a classic white Burgundy from the Maconnais region of southern Burgundy, next to Beaujolais and not that far from Lyon. I don’t recall ever having a Macon-Villages wine before so figured why not try it as it sounded like the perfect way to pair with what I picked.

Nicolas Maillet, Macon Villages

A lovely villages wine with notes of honey and well balanced lemon and grapefruit acidity. It paired beautifully with the razor clams bringing out its sweetness balanced by good salinity from the wine. This is really an easy-to-drink and inviting value wine so you can still enjoy the wines of this region without breaking the bank.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
